Want to hear about someone amazing???
Tiffany Henderson. An absolute powerhouse of a woman who I have the pleasure of knowing personally but is also doing incredible things in our community through her business, Tiff’s Support Services.
I initially met Tiff quite some time ago through our own supports for my eldest son. I loved her work and all that she stood for so when someone nominated her for a Community Review, I couldn’t say no!
Tiff is a proud Mother of four thriving children, some with very high needs. We sat down with her for a coffee and her passion for her work, her clients and her community just oozes from her soul. Tiff spoke of how isolated she felt as a mother of special needs kids and how she couldn’t sit back and watch a broken system destroy other families.
Tiff studied hard and now works as a personal support worker for her clients who range in gender, age (from 6 – 55 years old at the moment!), sexual identity and ability and they come from all walks of life. As Tiff is also a qualified personal trainer her focus with her clients is fitness based but, while chatting with her it became very clear that she goes the extra mile to learn about every client’s interest and passion. This includes spending weeks researching AFL and watching Star Wars just so that she can relate to them! Her sessions are tailored to meet each client’s needs and wants to see them grow to their full potential. During her time as a support worker Tiff says that her proudest moments are watching and assisting her clients go from sitting at home all day to people with jobs, adults who hold a driver’s licence and happy humans who have close friends and social lives! In her words… “My job and ultimate goal is for my clients to grow so much that they don’t need me anymore”
So, my summary? Tiff from Tiff’s Support Services is one of the best in our region. I am honoured to know her and am inspired by her passion for equality for every human being. She is a poster woman for equal opportunities regardless of age, ability or circumstance and Murray Bridge is lucky to have her.
