- with Yoga master Jodi Akashanda

Jodi Akashanda has a BA Dance, MA Theatre and recently relocated to Melbourne from Sydney. She started training in Asthanga Yoga in 1993 followed by training of various styles of Yoga with national and international teachers. Movement philosophy and the connection to the inner home via Yoga and dance has become an integral part of her life and practice.
Additional disciplines and experience includes; choreography, directing and performing dance- theatre productions, Physical Theatre, Psychic Channeling, Energy Healing, Meditative Guidance, Poetry, and Script writing. It is her eclectic field of interest and training and her extensive experience in dance and theatre that makes her Yoga teaching style truly unique. Jodi is a master at creating an atmosphere that feels professional, contained, gentle and highly conducive to ambitiously furthering one's own practice.

Dynamic Flow Yoga

Dynamic Flow Yoga utilizes movement, centering and the breath to guide the assimilation between movement of the body, emotions and mind. Jodi’s particular style integrates a blend of Ki, Asthanga, Iyengar and Hatha Yoga. The class moves swiftly through a series of postures combined with periods of rest. In addition to increasing flexibility and core strength , this class also aims to increase fitness. Open to students of all fitness levels and experience.

Thursdays 10:00am - 11:15 am. Drop in classes ongoing. 10 week course starting Sept. 11

Drop-ins are welcome during the course but for best results we recommend attending for the duration.

ASTHANGA YOGA:

Living in the moment.

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic practice of yoga postures linked together by sun salutations and creative sequences (Vinyasa), into a flowing practice linked by the breath, focusing on body and mind. The practice embodies strength, flexibility, core stabilization, stamina, cardiovascular and mind power all in one session whilst still being accessible to all levels of experience and abilities. This is a class with lots of attention to correct alignment and posture.

Saturdays 10:00am - 11:30am. Drop in classes currently ongoing.10 week course starting Aug 30.

Beginners and Intermediate course

This class employs a gentle, relaxed and patient approach to teaching with the firmness and decisive focus necessary to show you the horizon beyond your self imposed boundaries. It will help you strengthen your core and increase your well-being and your sense of self and lead to a greater state of relaxation during the class and during your week. This class starts easy and then gradually builds up during its 10 week duration.

Thursdays 7:30pm -8-45pm. 10 week course starting Aug 28
